Malcolm Hicks is a New Zealand long-distance runner. In 2019, he competed in the men's marathon at the 2019 World Athletics Championships held in Doha, Qatar. He finished in 27th place. In 2018, he finished in 18th place in the 2018 Berlin Marathon held in Berlin, Germany.

Greatest achievement to date?
Qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics in a personal best of 2:10:05 at the Seville marathon in 2020.
What is great about running in London?
The parks. For a big city, it has fantastic access to green spaces, with beautifully maintained parks. The canal and river paths are also great options away from the hustle of London streets.
Do you have any pre-run snacks?
Peanut butter on toast and a coffee. Every morning, without fail. Keep it simple and keep it consistent.
Favorite Running Partner?
Paul Martelletti, a bit of a local running celebrity in East London. He's also a seasoned marathoner and helped me prepare for my first marathon in Berlin in 2018. We did endless workouts in Victoria Park, long runs up the River Lea, and then got to race together.
Favorite London Loop?
The Richmond Park perimeter loop is very hard to beat!
Other favourites are combining canals and parks to make a loop, such as Victoria park - River Lea towpath - Hackney Marshlands - Olympic Park - Victoria Park.
